Redefining endurance to spotlight gender equality

433.1miles in 24hours

Under a full moon on top of the Clifton Observatory in Bristol, Kate completed a 24-hour static cycling challenge livestreamed to audiences online — breaking two existing world records and setting a world-first female record.

The challenge combined endurance sport with a wider message around visibility, representation, and gender equality in sport.

"Things happen outside our control, and it's our choice how we respond."

Over the course of the event, Kate:

  • Broke the world record for furthest distance cycled on a static bike in 1 hour
  • Broke the world record for furthest distance cycled on a static bike in 12 hours
  • Set the first official female world record for 24-hour static cycling

 

While a male equivalent record already existed, the female category did not.

The project aimed to generate positive conversation around fair representation and demonstrate the importance of creating visible pathways for women in endurance sport and beyond.
